Important Notice

Because of nCovid19 outbreak, the 2020 Polyelectrolytes symposium is re-scheduled to June 20 - 23, 2021, will be held online and offline, and the offline would still be at East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), at 130 Meilong Road, Shanghai, P. R. China.

The 13th International Symposium on Polyelectrolytes will be held in Shanghai, and is hosted by the East China University of Science and Technology on its Meilong Road campus. Since the first conference of the ISP series, now 25 years ago, research on polyelectrolytes has seen several remarkable developments. In particular, polyelectrolyte complexes in various forms and with new and exciting properties appeared on scene, new roles of polyelectrolytes and their complexes in cell biology were discovered and the novel class of metallo-polyelectrolytes attracted interest.
ISP2021 aims at being a platform for comprehensive discussions of polyelectrolyte research in a broad sense. We therefore have invited almost 20 speakers to deliver plenary and keynote lectures, and we hope these will set the scene for many contributed lectures and posters, and trigger our participants to share new insights and views in an open-minded atmosphere. We strive at offering you as a participant an inspiring cross-disciplinary experience of synthetic and physical chemistry, molecular simulation, materials science, biology and advanced technology that will have a lasting impact on your research work.
Please consult this website carefully, in particular regarding registration and assistance with obtaining Visa; feel free to contact us by e-mail at any time for additional questions. I look forward to welcoming you!

Description of the ISP Conference
The origin of the International Symposium on Polyelectrolytes (ISP) dates back to a symposium on polyelectrolytes held at the 205th ACS national meeting (March 28 to April 2, 1993, Denver, Colorado). As an outcome of that foundational gathering, the first ISP meeting was held in Potsdam, Germany, on September 18-22, 1995. Since then, the International Symposium on Polyelectrolytes has become a major biennial international forum in the field of polyelectrolytes.Special issues devoted to polyelectrolytes have been published, see for a collection: ( .
